The goals of this grant are to: identify subpopulations of children with Cranio-facial Microsomia (CFM) of interest for a future R01 study, determine a standardized method for phenotyping their characteristics, and to more narrowly refine the phenotypic definitions following collection of the preliminary data obtained through this current grant. The benefits of this work will be to facilitate a future Genome-wide association (GWA) study in individuals with CFM, to develop a rigorous study protocol for multi-center collaborations, and to further define a phenotype that can be used for such multi-center studies.
